PDF vs web catalog
PDF remains a standard B2B format because it is easy to download, forward, attach to an RFQ, store in a dealer library, and open without a dedicated platform. A web catalog is better for live inventory, filters, analytics, and frequent automatic updates. Many companies need both: the website supports discovery, while the PDF becomes the portable document used during sales communication.
Why a digital edition needs its own preparation
A print master is built for paper, high-resolution output, and a fixed viewing size. When that same file is sent through email or a messenger, it may become too heavy, open slowly, and display technical tables at an unreadable scale. Simply applying maximum compression can make the file smaller but damage product images and fine diagrams.
We balance file weight, image quality, page format, typography, and navigation for the intended channel. A mobile-first PDF may need shorter tables, stronger hierarchy, larger type, and more direct internal links. For some projects, the best solution is two digital exports: a compact sharing edition and a higher-quality archive or presentation edition.
Navigation and version control
Clickable contents, bookmarks, chapter links, and clear return paths reduce endless scrolling. We also place an edition date or revision number where it cannot be missed, helping distributors and sales managers identify the current file. If the catalog changes frequently, we recommend a stable download URL so older messages still lead users to the latest approved edition.
